The Excess Reasources
Sculpture

This is a group of sculptures about resource waste. On the way to study sustainable development, the artist hopes to arouse people's thinking about the environment through this group of works.

Inspired by the abundant commodities in the market, the research was carried out, and found that in modern society, commodities are produced all the time on the earth as basic requirements for maintaining human beings and consumer goods. The unsalable goods produced by some factories, the breakage of food in the process of transportation, the waste on the table, and the overdevelopment of some industries due to the government and other reasons, lead to the imbalance of industrial structure, and the unreasonable allocation of resources, and the waste of resources.

The research place is Shanghai. With the rapid development and replacement of such a super city, there will be ruins in the city. For this purpose, I visited many places. Some of the ruins have been turned into illegal 'mini vegetable fields' and some of them have become natural habitats for animals. Under the soil, there are some waste materials from civil engineering, steel and cement. This project is looking for objects and images of human waste in the ruins of the city.Artists make use of the transformation of objects, residents transform the ruins by growing agricultural products, and birds make their homes in the
ruins. Ruins are mostly abandoned by human beings, but here they are transformed by another group of people or animals to play a valuable role. I wonder if we can all keep finding new value in different areas.
